Modular UGV for Mixed Indoor and Outdoor Applications
Lynx is a compact and robust Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) platform designed for seamless operation in both indoor and outdoor environments. Featuring an IP54/66-rated, rugged alloy chassis, Lynx withstands harsh conditions while measuring just 54 cm in width—allowing it to navigate tight spaces and standard doorways effortlessly. Its modular design includes a hot-swappable battery system and a customizable user compartment, allowing users to tailor the robot to their specific needs without overcomplicating the setup.
Lynx facilitates the integration of LIDAR, 3D cameras, manipulators, and other components through its T-slot mounting rail, accessible power ports, and extensive communication interfaces. Supported by open-source ROS 2 driver and a comprehensive suite of software examples, Lynx simplifies the development process for your product or research project.
Key Features
Modular Design
Lynx's modular design consists of four main components:
Lynx component | description |
---|---|
Mobile Platform | The core of the system that runs the ROS 2 driver on a real-time Linux kernel, providing an API for application-specific User Computer |
Hot-Swap Battery | Enables continuous operation by allowing battery replacement without shutting down the system, minimizing downtime during extended missions |
Customizable User Compartment | Designed for easy integration of application-specific components. You can even design your own user compartment chassis. |
Removable Fenders | With Signaling LEDs: Enhance safety and visibility during operation; fenders can be customized or removed according to your needs. |
Inside the User Compartment, you have a variety of options to adjust your platform to your needs:
-
Industrial Router: Default options include Teltonika RUTX11 / RUTX50, offering Ethernet (4 / 5 ports), Wi-Fi, cellular connectivity (4G / 5G), and GNSS. You can also install your own router.
-
User Computer: Choose from default options like:
- ASUS® NUC: Intel® Core™ i7-1360P, 16 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD, Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics.
- Lenovo® ThinkStation® P360 Tiny: Intel® Core™ i7-12700T, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, NVIDIA® T1000 GPU.
- NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ NX: ARM® Cortex® A78AE, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, NVIDIA® Ampere GPU.
You also have the flexibility to integrate your own computing hardware, or even design your own user compartment chassis.
-
User Power Ports : Supplies up to 780 W of total power with multiple voltage options 5 V, 12 V, 19 V, and 32–42 V
On top of the robot, using the T-slot mounting rail, you can install LIDARs, cameras, robotic arms, or any equipment required by your application.
