Lynx Configuration Options
The Lynx UGV is a highly customizable platform. This page provides a comprehensive list of available options to help you configure the platform to suit your application's specific requirements.
Base Platform
The Lynx mobile robot is a professional, industrial-grade unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) designed for outdoor applications. It runs on open-source ROS/ROS 2 (Robot Operating System) drivers, making it highly versatile and adaptable for various robotics projects.
The Lynx UGV boasts a modular design, consisting of four primary components:
- Mobile Platform
- Battery
- Fenders (with status lights)
- User Compartment
For a detailed overview of the Lynx platform and its capabilities, refer to the Lynx manual.
You can choose from two Lynx base platform configurations based on your project's requirements:
LNX02L - Husarion Lynx UGV Lite
This minimal version includes only the essentials:
- Mobile Platform
- Battery
Ideal for projects that demand a high level of customization, this configuration provides the core components of the platform. You can design your own user compartment and integrate custom status lights to suit your specific needs. The Mobile Platform + Battery forms the foundational base for your custom robot design.
LNX02S - Husarion Lynx UGV Standard
The standard version includes all four Lynx modules:
- Mobile Platform
- Battery
- Fenders (FD01)
- User Compartment (UC01 + UPP02 + RUTX11)
This option is perfect for jumpstarting your development. With a default setup, you can begin working on your project right away without the need for extensive customization. It provides a robust starting point to explore and implement your ideas.
User Compartments
Lynx modular design allows you to design your own user compartment of choose from a few ready to use models prepared by Husarion
UC00
User plate 480 x 350 mm
UC01
Medium user compartment: V = 22 l, hINT = 136 mm
UC02

Battery
BAT01 - 720Wh Li-Ion battery
The BAT01 is a standard 720Wh Li-Ion battery pack included with all Lynx Base configurations. To reduce downtime, you can order additional BAT01 units, ensuring your operations continue seamlessly while other batteries charge.
CHR03 - External Charger for BAT01
The CHR03 is a standalone charger specifically designed for the BAT01. Ideal for charging spare batteries independently of the Lynx Base Platform, it allows you to keep additional batteries ready for use at all times.
Hot Swap
HS01
The battery can be replaced with a fully charged one in seconds, but the robot must be powered off during the replacement process.
HS02
The battery can be replaced with a fully charged one in seconds without needing to power off the robot.
The HS02 option is currently under development. If your project requires this feature, please let us know using the contact form at the bottom of this page.

FD01 is already included in the LNX02S - Husarion Lynx UGV Standard base platform configuration
Water and Dust Protection
The Base Platform offers two levels of water and dust protection, compliant with the IEC 60529 standard. These options allow you to customize the robot’s enclosure based on the environmental conditions in which it will operate.
IP54
Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it does not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment. This rating ensures complete protection against contact with tools and the ingress of objects. The enclosure also guards against the harmful effects of water splashing from any direction.
IP66
This rating guarantees that no dust can penetrate the enclosure, providing complete protection against contact with its interior components. Furthermore, the enclosure is fortified to endure powerful water jets projected from a 12.5 mm nozzle, originating from any direction, without causing harm.
IP54 and IP66 options relate only to the Base Platform and do not cover 3rd party components.
User Computers
The User Computer is located in the User Compartment and is designed to run your application-level software, such as the Nav2 stack. Unlike the Built-in Computer, which manages low-level operations, the User Computer within the Base Platform is where you'll perform daily tasks, develop software, and run your own code. This code communicates with the Built-in Computer via the ROS API.
The Built-in Computer runs the Mobile Platform ROS 2 driver on a real-time kernel, handling critical hardware interactions. Configuration and management of the Built-in Computer are reserved for advanced users due to its complexity and specialized role in the system.
